One Test Down, Two More to Go

I totally almost forgot to write my blog post today *gasp*  Luckily for you, I remembered just as I was heading to bed.

Today I woke up at 7 AM, got dressed, made my bed, and began working on my homework.  For the first little while, I was working on studying for my big test on Thursday (which will hopefully be moved to Tuesday), then, I decided to work on my exam paper due tomorrow (sometime after breakfast, I believe).

The sad thing is, I didn't do much more than work on my paper today.  Well, I did stop to eat lunch (fish, stir fried potatoes, and rice) and to have a nice chat with Elisa.  I also took a mini break and watched the first thirty minutes of Princess Diaries II.  But most of the day was spent moaning about how hard the paper was/slightly freaking out at how non-understandable the different points were on the outline she gave us.

At some-point, we had a SUPER heavy rainstorm that basically created an ocean in our street (and I say ocean because every single time a car would drive by, it would create small ocean-like waves in the street).  It was pretty fun to watch. Did I mention that the water went all the way up to the bottom of most cars?)  Here's a video and some pictures:

Someohow, I managed to get three pages written before going to meet with my classmates at the Starbucks at 6 PM.  (Why Starbucks you may ask?  WIFI and AC).  On our way to the bus stop, we had to do some serious wading in some nasty water.  I definitely came home and washed my legs and feet after that.  Anyway, with the help of my classmates, at Starbucks, many things were made clear again,  questions were answered, and I was able to enjoy life once again.

At 6:50ish PM, we walked over to the Grand Plaza (or the mall.  It was right behind Starbucks) and to the food court for FHE.  That's where we ran into Profe and his family (and the rest of the gang).  It was there that I bought some ridiculously good pizza (SO GOOD) and chatted with the peeps in our group.  After everyone was finished dining, we went and got dessert!  (Which the program was kind enough to pay for).  As you may have guessed, I got some ice cream.  But I got a flavor that does not exist in the US.  Which is probably why I can't remember it's name.  It starts with an M.  Memey!  That's it.  It was super yummy.  Not my favorite, but not bad.  And in case anyone was wondering, this is what a memy fruit looks like:

That fruit is the exact same color as my sorbet.  Funny how that worked out :P

I also bought two delicious pastries (a cone shaped one that was yummy, and the one I always get - a cookie with jelly insides).  And ate them all.  (My sweet tooth was more than satisfied).

After dessert, we all parted ways.   Which meant that Conner, Christina, Brandon, and I headed home together.  We walked part way, then caught a bus (well, Brandon decided to walk all the way home).  When I got home, I grabbed my computer, put in my music, and finished up my paper!  Probably got it done about 10:30 PM.  Then I spent a little time chillaxin'

I think it finally hit me that I only have a little more than a week left here.  Kind of a bitter-sweet thing.  I will be happy to have a toilet that isn't always plugged, but I will miss being able to go out and experience so many different things.  I think the strange thing about this whole experience has been how time passes.  As in, it seems to have gone by so fast, but at the same time, it feels like I've been here forever and that the end will never come.  Hopefully, though, between my exams and homework this week, I will be able to find time to do some more exploring round this city.  I'm gonna miss this place.  Hopefully, someday, I'll be able to come visit it again.

Til Tomorrow,

R J Carr
