Rebecca, the Girl on Fire (AKA Lobster Girl)

Today's post will be short(er) because I am truly not feeling the best.  Which you may have picked up on from my blog post title.

Today started out awesome.  Got up at around 8 AM, I believe, than dressed in my swim suit, ate breakfast, and headed off to the beach.  The bus we got on was called the progresso.  It was SUCH a nice bus - complete with comfy chairs and AC.  It was only about a 20 minute bus ride until we arrived at our destination.  (Though we did have to walk a few blocks before finally stumbling upon the beach).  It was B-E-A-utiful!  We met many of the other students there (we'd planned ahead).  It was just Conner, Chrstina, and I at first, but soon Raquel, AubreyAnn, Claire, and a bunch of other people arrived.
I do believe that this is the boat grave yard.  It was kind of cool to see.
Here's what the main part of the beach looked like.  There we a lot of tiny vendor restaurants lining the beach.  And then, of course, you had the vendors that walked up and down the beach selling things.
Here's one of the "Mine" birds from Finding Nemo.  Hungry little guys.
This was our little dog friend.  He started leaving just as I crouched down to take a picture (go figure)
Here's a beach selfie (because you always need a beach selfie)
And this was the aftermath of the beach.  (It's really, really, painful - especially on the legs - but it was totally worth it).
I think the most fun thing in the beach was wading out (till it was waist deep) than crouching down and letting the incoming waves bob you up and down.  It was like being in a wave pool, but better.  We came early (bout 10) in the morning and the ocean was pretty calm, but about noon it started getting nice and choppy with some bigger waves.

The funniest thing was that, at the end before we parted ways, we were all comparing sunburns.  And I had been thinking to myself, "hah!  I have no sunburn.  Except maybe little ones.  Awesome."  Then I came home and, as you can see from the picture above, I definitely have some pretty big sunburns.  #intense

Also, watch what happens when you throw food to the birds (it's pretty fabulous):

After the beach (I think we got home about 4?  or 5?  So we were at the beach for about 5ish hours) we (Christina and I) showered and then ate this delicious dish:

Baked potato with a lot of delicious toppings
Shortly after we went to FHE at Profe's house (he's also staying with a MM).  Where we ate pizza and had homemade horchahta (SO good.  Much better than the stuff you can buy in the states).  Then, I started feeling super sick and went home.  So now, here I am, lying in bed, praying I can sleep tonight with my sunburn (I'm sure it'll be fine.  And I'm just thinking about how good of a tan I will have after this!  I'm gonna walk into the airport and my family is gonna be like, "woah, where's Rebecca?"  and then when they seem me their eyes are gonna go all big and they're gonna be like, "WOW, maybe I should go to Mexico").

That's all for today folks.  Tomorrow I have class at 7 AM (yee-haw).

'Til Tomorrow.
